The State of Washington covers about half the cost of a community college education.

Instructional costs per full time-equivalent resident student are estimated at $6,168 for the 2011-2012 academic year.

The state provides $3,319 per full-time equivalent student, and student tuition covers the remainder. The state also provides an average of $793 in financial aid per resident student.
