In honor of LCC's first benefactors, the Foundation established The Wertheimer Society to recognize and honor donors who generously provide gifts to the Lower Columbia College Foundation through bequests, trusts, and other life income gifts.
“Society membership is a reflection of the highest of values and commitment to future educational excellence.”
The Foundation was established in 1976 through generous gifts from Phillip and Jeanne Wertheimer. The vision was to create avenues for excellence in education at LCC.
Since then the Foundation has continued to provide financial assistance to students, encourage public support for the College, and strengthen the teaching, learning and cultural environment of the College and our community.
Each year the Foundation honors a benefactor with a history of providing charitable financial support to the Foundation, and/or significant volunteer service to Lower Columbia College. Most notably, their contributions have had a demonstrated impact on the college, its programs, students or the community.
If you have named Lower Columbia College in your will or have otherwise included the institution in your estate plans, you are already a member.
If you have not notified us of your bequest, please contact us regarding your decision and sign a Declaration of Intent. The Declaration of Intent is non-binding and creates no legal obligation to you or your estate.
“Your generous gift will ensure the continuity of the institution for many generations to come.”
With your financial gift the college will be able to provide scholarships to worthy students. Your investment will help secure first-rate faculty, develop technology and programs that improve teaching and learning, and maintain and improve the quality of the campus infrastructure.
