Available Caregiver Training Courses
Revised Fundamentals of Caregiving
Basic DSHS curriculum that meets the requirements for basic training for Caregivers. Most Caregivers must take the 28 hour course within the first 120 days of employment.
Continuing Education for Caregivers
Caregivers are required to take 10 hours of Continuing Education per year. Family caregivers, nursing students, medical assistants, RNs, and LPNs may also take these 5-hour classes. Please check with your sponsoring agency to determine the appropriate courses.
Modified Fundamentals of Caregiving
A self-study, self-paced course for RNs, LPNs, CNAs, Physical therapists, Occupational therapists, and Medicare-certified home health aides.
Nurse Delegation
A self-study training course for Nursing Assistants who will accept and perform tasks delegated by a Registered Nurse (RN).
All classes meet in the Don Talley Vocational Building.
