• To provide an extracurricular opportunity for students to explore interests in the chemical sciences
• To afford an opportunity for students of a chemical science to become better acquainted
• To foster an awareness of the responsibilities and challenges of the modern chemist
• To secure the intellectual stimulation that arises from professional association
• To instill a pride in the chemical sciences
• To support community interest in the chemical sciences
