The Opportunity Grant Program is a financial aid and student support program offered at Lower Columbia College. This program is designed for students in one or two-year professional/technical programs, seeking to improve their skills and prepare for a high demand career. Financial support may include tuition and fees, books, required supplies and/or tools for a maximum of 45 credits. Other supports are individualized. Please Note: The FAFSA is used to determine your financial need. If you do not qualify for traditional financial aid (Pell Grant, Workstudy, etc.), you may still be eligible for the Opportunity Grant Program.
Eligibility
To be eligible you must:
- Be a Washington resident.
- Submit the FAFSA for the school year in which you are applying and follow-through with all requests from the Financial Aid Office.
- Enroll in courses for an academic program approved for this grant. See programs listed in Opportunity Grant Program Information.
- Complete at least 50% of credits attempted; maintain a 2.0 GPA.
- Meet the daily and weekly attendance requirements.
- Demonstrate commitment to your education and make changes necessary for a successful college experience.
- Students participating in I-BEST may qualify for the Opportunity Grant Program. See programs listed in Opportunity Grant Program Information.
