“Even if you don’t know if you want to go to college, you might as well come to LCC and try out classes comparatively cheaply”

When Andrew graduated from Mark Morris in 2013, he wasn’t sure what he wanted to study in college.

After a bit of exploration, he discovered that he enjoyed—and excelled in—math and physics. His positive experience with math led him to become a tutor at LCC. He also received joint recognition from the Mathematics and Physics Departments at the 2016 Outstanding Student Awards ceremony held in May.

After receiving an AA-DTA this spring, Andrew will continue on at LCC to fulfill requirements for a transfer degree in engineering. He plans to pursue further studies at a university and complete a Mechanical Engineering degree.

Andrew advises students who aren’t sure what they want to do to enroll at LCC and explore.

Andrew estimates that he is saving money by attending LCC, even though he turned down a substantial scholarship from a research university.

Over the summer Andrew plans to participate in a medical mission on the Amazon River in Peru.
