Raiter brings a wealth of business experience and community service connections to the board. The longtime Longview resident served on the county board for 12 years, retiring in 2012. Prior work experience included six years as a manager with Weyerhaeuser and 15 years as a manager at the Reynolds Aluminum Electrical Division.
His extensive list of community positions include: the Washington State Legislature House of Representatives, Longview City Council where he also served as Mayor, past-Chair of the Cowlitz Economic Development Council and state Community Economic Revitalization Board. Volunteer work included serving on the PeaceHealth/St John Hospital Governing Board, Longview Chamber of Commerce, KLTV Board Directors, and Longview Library Foundation.
Raiter earned his B.S. degree in Chemistry from California State University, Chico, and has a year of post-graduate studies in the Executive MBA program at University of Oregon. He holds Registered Professional Engineer certification from California.
Raiter and his wife of 48 years, Judith Bartholomew, have two grown sons and three grandchildren.
