Schedule your workshop at a time convenient for you! We understand that your classes
have to take priority, but when you have time, take advantage of the great information
in our career related workshops.
Each *FREE workshop lasts approximately one hour, and if you are a community member
that would like to come with a student or bring some friends to attend with you, please
feel welcomed to schedule a session! We love that you are willing to investigate services
at Lower Columbia College!
Navigating College Workshops
College is supposed to be challenging, but there are trips and hazards that you can
avoid if you know that they are coming. Community members AND students can benefit
from these navigation workshops. We welcome you to call and request your favorite
topics!
The Career Center offers more than just resumes (but we do that too!)
What you will learn:
- startnextquarter.org - You may have access to more resources than you knew
- Counseling: Whether there is a personal, financial, or academic crisis, the Career
Center is where you will find counseling services for students
- Financial Aid application assistance - Are you missing a signature? Have you checked
your portal? Do you need parental information? Find out where to get it here
- Assistance with career/degree exploration, job searches, interview preparation, and
even work related success strategies are located at the Career Center

end matter, too)

- Dependent versus independent student status and what that means
- Using the Data Retrieval Tool to import your IRS information, and how to get verification
if you were unable to import
- What to do when your current situation doesn't match your FAFSA information
