Resume Workshop: Achieving your Professional Potential

Join us for a Resume Workshop, where LCC’s Employment Navigator, will empower you with the skills and knowledge needed to craft a compelling resume that highlights your unique strengths and experiences. Whether you're seeking internships, a work-study position, a part-time job, or preparing to enter the job market after graduation, our workshop will provide you with the expertise to create a standout resume that showcases your potential.

When & Where:

Our Resume Workshop is offered to current and recently graduated LCC students in the Career Center (located in the Admissions Building) on the 2nd Wednesday of each month from 11:30 to 12:30pm (beginning Sept. 13).

Space is limited so we ask that participants reserve their spot by calling the Career Center front desk at (360)442-2330 before attending the workshop.

What to Bring:

  • Printed resume (if you have one)
  • Employment history, any relevant skills and/or experience (optional)
  • List of potential employment opportunities
  • Laptop (not required)
  • A learning mindset!

Workshop Highlights:

  1. Resume Essentials: Learn the fundamental elements of a well-structured resume, including how to create an impactful summary, list your work experience effectively, and showcase your educational achievements.
  2. Cover Letter Crafting: A great cover letter can significantly enhance your job application. We will guide you through the process of writing a persuasive cover letter that complements your resume.
  3. Resume Reviews: Receive personalized feedback and suggestions for improvement.
  4. Formatting and Design Tips: Learn the do's and don'ts of resume formatting and design to ensure your resume is visually appealing and easy to read.
  5. Action Verbs and Keywords: Understand the importance of using strong action verbs and keywords to make your resume impactful and demonstrate your achievements effectively.
  6. Addressing Employment Gaps: If you have employment gaps or career changes, we'll guide you on how to address them in your resume in a positive light.

The workshop will be conducted in a small group setting to provide a supportive environment and personalized attention. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and receive real-time feedback.
