Bachelor's Degree Program Details

What is a Bachelor of Applied Science degree?

LCC's Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) degree programs are undergraduate programs designed to provide students with a practical and applied education in a specific field. Unlike traditional Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BS) degrees, which often emphasize humanities or theoretical math and science, a BAS degree focuses on hands-on, real-world applications of knowledge. These programs are tailored to meet the needs of industries requiring skilled professionals with a strong foundation in both theoretical concepts and practical skills. The curriculum includes a combination of technical coursework, practical training, and general education requirements, ensuring graduates are well-prepared for immediate entry into the workforce. BAS degrees are particularly beneficial for individuals seeking career advancement or a transition to a new field, as they offer a targeted and career-oriented approach to education.

Sometimes referred to as a 4-year degree, Bachelor's degree programs at LCC can be completed on varying timelines to accommodate your schedule, full-time or part-time. These degrees admit students that have completed an AAS or AAS-T degree or 90 credits at an accredited institution.

LCC currently offers two Bachelor of Applied Science programs. Class types include in-person, online and hybrid. Learn more about our available programs below and apply today!
