The Open Doors Youth Reengagement program is dedicated to empowering students to achieve their high school diploma and prepare for their next steps in life; such as earning stackable certifications to earn short-term credentials to help students boost their skills and advance in employment.
Overview
Open Doors Youth Reengagement is a system that provides education and services to older youth, ages 16-21, who have dropped out of school or are not expected to graduate from high school by the age of 21. The Open Doors Youth Reengagement program is dedicated to empowering students to achieve their high school diploma and prepare for their next steps in life. Our program offers personalized support and resources to help students succeed academically, professionally, and personally.
Open Doors is a reengagement program designed for students who:
- Are ages 16-21 years old.
- Have not earned a high school diploma
- Are significantly short on high school credits, or are more than one year past their original cohort graduation date.
- Want to finish high school or its equivalent while gathering meaningful, employable skills and training.
- Want access to a wide variety of college courses.
- Enrolled through a high school which LCC has an active OSPI approved consortium agreement/Contract.

Submit Open Doors Application
- Eligibility must be verified and approved by high school counselor
- Eligibility/intake form must be completed and submitted to Open Doors staff along with a copy of your high school transcript
- Upon acceptance, you will receive an email from the Youth Reengagement Manager titled ‘Welcome to Open Doors’ (please check your spam folder)
- Transcript evaluation reviews will be completed during your intake meeting with your Open Doors advisor, which will consist of:
- Determining what credits have been completed
- Determining what HS credits still need to be completed
- Depending on students overall requirements and educational/workforce goals, a program planner will be created for review by advisor, student and HS counselor
- All new students are required to take COLL 101 their first quarter
- All new students will be required to attend a mandatory New Student Orientation
Tuition and fees are covered by the program for eligible students, including required books and materials (restrictions may apply).
