“We have the opportunity to create the future and decide what it will be like.” — Mae Jemison, NASA Astronaut and Physician.

Corporate & Continuing Education partners with schools and parents to provide fun, engaging, hands-on educational activities that engage children in learning new skills like programming, engineering, and critical thinking. These activities include Family STEM Night, STEMtastic, Kids College, STEM workshops, STEAM workshops and more.

Students learn how STEM relates to the everyday world and are encouraged to consider STEM careers.

Upcoming Workshops

Parent & Teen Chemistry Lab

  Mondays, April 10 - May 15, 6 - 8 pm, Health & Science Building Rm. 329

Learn molecular concepts of chemistry and how modern instrumentation is used to understand and analyze chemical behavior. Focus on chemicals we smell and eat in our regular lives - analysis of food aroma, essential oils from spices, analysis of spice extracts - finding the molecular composition and investigating the properties of those chemicals.

Students in grades 7 - 10 will be given lab safety training appropriate to the experiments performed. Before work with chemicals begin, participants must sign agreement to follow lab safety procedures and rules. Parents must attend and participate with their children. (Herbelin) $29

Registration is required and space is limited. Register today at Chem Lab registration.
