Women make up a growing number of the veterans returning home from military service. Their transition back to civilian life can be very different from the challenges faced by male veterans. Family, friends, employers and all members of our community can make a difference in helping them through this journey.
This program, including a documentary film, "Service: When Women Come Marching Home" will allow a panel of local women veterans to share their experiences and then engage in a discussion with the audience.
Lourdes E. (Alfie) Alvarado-Ramos, Director of the Washington Department of Veterans Affairs, is traveling to Longview to participate in the program and to raise awareness of this important topic.
