Raul Arellano and Andrew Jaspers selected for 2017 All-Washington Academic Team.

Lower Columbia College is pleased to announce the selection of two students to represent Lower Columbia College on the 2017 All-Washington Academic Team.

Raul and Andrew will be honored at a ceremony in Olympia with Washingotn State Governor Jay Inslee on March 23.

About Raul Arellano

Raul Arellano is passionate about helping others. He has received Congressional recognition for logging over 1,900 hours of community service, and plans to pursue a career in medicine one day. Originally from California, Raul moved to the area in 2011 and graduated from Toutle Lake High School in 2014. He will receive his AA-DTA in June 2016 and hopes to attend the University of Washington and major in biology.

About Andrew Jaspers

When Andrew Jaspers enrolled at LCC he was contemplating a degree in political science. He soon discovered that he excelled in STEM courses, and was recognized as the Outstanding Student in both Math and Physics in 2016. He completed his AA-DTA last year and is on track to graduate with a degree in mechanical engineering this spring. He has been accepted at WSU-V, where he hopes to pursue a BS in engineering.

Raul and Andrew each received a $250 scholarship from the LCC Foundation.
