Fall Quarter 2019

Heidi loves hiking and has hiked 150+ miles so far of the Pacific Crest Trail. Heidi sets very specific goals every time she hikes the Pacific Crest and plans to hike other sections soon with goals of completing all of Oregon and Washington alone. Eventually, she would like to hike California sections as well. The Pacific Crest Trail is a total of 2,653 miles! -
Judi has lost 50 lbs so far and now is focused on having a healthy BMI. Since the passing of her husband, Judi searched for a way to reconnect with herself to heal. She decided to make small changes, like getting back to working out regularly. Judi works out almost every day and plays soccer on an indoor soccer team on the weekends. She encourages everyone to start small and keep progressing forward.
Spring Quarter 2019

Merry has lost 120 pounds, and she's not done! Her goal is to lose about 70 more. Her advice to others looking to shed some weight is to just, "do something". Big or small, make a change and use that to piggyback onto more and more changes. -
Ken is an avid runner, bike rider and hiker. Him and his wife run at least 4 miles a day with their dog. Through his active lifestyle he's been able to stay healthy and mobile through the years. He says, "once you start, don't stop".

Mavourneen's approach to Health & Wellness is both, physical and mental, and she makes sure to focus an equal amount of energy in both areas. She works hard to maintain a positive outlook on life while giving back to people in need. Mavourneen has also done martial arts for the last 20 years, amazing! -
Ann's road to a healthy lifestyle is simple, don't start too big and stick with small and easy changes. Ann is a regular at the LCC Fitness Center and also takes Zumba classes here on campus. Ann makes sure to listen to her body, stay active and keep moving!

Julian enjoys working out in the LCC Fitness Center with his gym and weightlifting partner. "No pain, no gain," is how he describes his gym sessions. Outside of LCC, he also likes to play pick-up basketball at his local gym and mentions how he can play for hours. Julian maintains an active lifestyle and strives to eat healthy as well. -
Matt's motivation to hit the gym and pump some iron comes from his personal progress he sees in the mirror. Being able to lose weight and gain muscle are part of his transformational goals. His focus and determination have even led him to win a transformational challenge in the past. -
Marco is a member of the LCC Fitness Center and has experienced a renewed sense of confidence since he joined. Seeing the progress, being able to lose some weight and gain some muscle have helped him stay motivated. His goal is to continue to get lean and gain more muscle and he is on a great trajectory.

Kendra's lifestyle has a way of inspiring others. Her dedication and commitment to health and fitness are not only good for her, but she also inspires others. She enjoys long runs, hikes with the family, CrossFit sessions in the LCC Fitness Center, and also enjoys delicious healthy food choices. -
Michaela suffered a back injury a while back and struggled to find a way of coping with the pain. She later found out that increased exercise and mobility helped alleviate the pain. Today, Michaela makes sure to stay active, and make healthy food choices. As a result, she hasn't experienced any pain since she made physical activity a top priority. She is a frequent flier of the LCC Fitness Center. -
"Stick it out," Brittany says! Brittany knows from her own personal experience that sticking with a healthy lifestyle will produce results. One of her goals was to drop weight and she has been able to lose 30 pounds. Brittany's perspective is that even small steps can help you finish a race.

Hiedi brings an energetic and optimistic outlook on life and she knows how to use it to her advantage. Her passion for writing poetry and the creative work that she is able to manifest, is inspired through physical activities and meditation. Hiedi's best work is produced when she is in tune with her body and mind. -
Overcoming adversity is one of Clinton's strongest qualities! Through his own life learning lessons, Clinton hopes to motivated others who face similar barriers as he has, to make a change for the better. Clinton is not only a believer in his personal philosophy, as the ASLCC President, he also leads by example. -
Teresa realized that she had a system around her that would allow her to make healthier life choices. She joined the LCC Fitness Center, used apps like MyFitnessPal, and tracked her progress with the BIA scale. In her journey, she has seen significant weight loss and enjoys a healthier lifestyle. -
Determined and competitive is a great way to describe Dustin. He constantly strives to maintain a healthy lifestyle by exercising and eating healthy foods. Through hard work and dedication, Dustin has seen vast improvements in strength all around.

She's the perfect example of someone who successfully balances work, life, and school! She's a single mom of 3 kids, works two jobs, and is enrolled full-time in the nursing program. Holli is an optimistic individual and is determined to make life better for her family. -
Crystal's positivity is infectious! Maintaining her optimistic outlook on life and fun-loving personality is easy for her because she's intentional about the choices she makes, the people she associates herself with, and the impact she has on others.

Motivated by a desire to sleep better, be more energized, and feel better all around, Cliff made healthy changes to his lifestyle and eating habits! Through a consistent workout routine & a low calorie diet that keeps him full & satisfied, he's seen amazing results! -
After a major health scare, Kym has drastically improved her overall well-being! She's lost 100 pounds, is a workout machine, teaches a fitness class, eats healthy, & has the energy level she needs to keep up with her two kids! -
Annette has always been a strong advocate for health & fitness, but she has recently changed her approach and it's working really well for her! Aside from healthy eating habits and frequent physical activity, she now focuses on increasing her metabolism through a consistent fasting schedule!

When Mary reached her heaviest weight, she was determined to make a lifestyle change. It all started with completely changing her eating habits and then she started exercising. With high motivation and consistency, Mary continues to lose weight! -
Scott is a regular at the LCC Fitness Center! He works out 5x/week and is very thoughtful about the food he puts in his body! Scott's lost 62 lbs!

From goal setting, diet changes, and sheer determination, Mike has lost over 50 lbs.! He's well deserving of the compliments he's now getting on a regular basis. You look great, Mike! -
Rhonie's New Year's Resolution was to quit smoking! It only took her two weeks to completely quit! She's determined to stay tobacco-free forever! -
Ashley is motivated to lead a healthy lifestyle because of her daughter. She eats wells, exercises consistently & safely, & sets achievable goals, which enabled her to lose over 50 lbs. She's less than 20 away from her ideal weight.

Rich has lost 80 pounds, has his blood pressure under control, is mindful about what he eats, and has established an awesome workout routine! -
Rita has set goals and worked hard to change her eating habits and increase her daily exercise! She follows the Paleo diet and has lost four pant sizes! -
Louis is expanding options for healthy eating on campus through the Richard Kelley Learning & Healing Garden. He's also teaching peers and students about gardening and is involved with healthy eating initiatives in the community!

After being diagnosed with diabetes, Gabino made some major healthy changes, including cutting out the soda! -
Nadine is committed to eating clean and exercising with both weights and cardio. She's seeing amazing results -
Steven lost 185 pounds of fat and gained 20 pounds of muscle from cutting out tobacco and alcohol, eating healthy and exercising!

Brad was introduced to CrossFit as an ASLCC event in 2013.. He's been mostly consistently following it ever since, as well as making diet changes. -
Shelly had a wake-up call in 2011. Since then she's lost over half her body weight by setting small, achievable goals. -
Jim realized it was time for a change when he stepped on a BIA scale in 2014. Since then he'd dropped 10 pounds and started working out.
