Hello Red Devils!
My name is Thomas Gomez and this year I will be serving you, the student body as the Director of Finance for ASLCC. I am entering my second year at Lower Columbia with hopes to continue to a university next year where I will be majoring in Finance with a minor in Economics. I am a pitcher for the Red Devils baseball team as well as an active member of the community, involved in organizations such as FCA & PTK, while serving as a Younglife leader for middle school kids.
I was born in London, England though my family moved to America when I was a young lad. I attended Wilsonville High School, where I was quite active physically participating in baseball, basketball, football, as well as a year on the swim team. My favorite hobbies usually involve a body of water, such as surfing and other various water sports, as well as skating. Though sports have consumed a large area of my life, that is not where I find my identity. I have a passion for life growth, whether that growth be mental, physical, emotional, or spiritual. Over the past year or so I have used this passion to better myself in any way possible, though there is always room for improvement. Taking this position as Director of Finance, I hope to implement this mindset in the work place, doing whatever is made possible to benefit this school in a positive way.
This being my first year in this position I realize that I have much to learn, and time is of the essence. That being said, I plan to work hard and educate myself in the best way possible so that I can make a positive contribution to this team and this wonderful school. The amount of influence that we have as students sometimes gets overlooked and underestimated, though in reality we have the ability to apply real change and make a large impact on many areas of this establishment. This reality has been grasped by our team, though help and contribution from the student body is just as vital as any position we may be in. I am looking forward to this year together, and want to extend an invitation to each and every student at Lower Columbia to come and visit us in the Student Center and encourage you to feel confident about expressing any questions, concerns or ideas you may have. Don’t hesitate to contact myself, or any of our other staff members. Go Red Devils!
