Brett Kangas

Brett Kangas is receiving an Associate of Applied Science in welding this spring. While studying at LCC, Brett received certifications in shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) and Flux cored arc welding (FCAW) through the WABO Welder Certification Program.

Brett currently works at the Mallory Safety and Supply Company in Longview. He's completed the testing process and is awaiting an interview with the Sheet Metal Workers Local Union 66 of Western Washington. His career goal is to work for Local 66.

When he's not working or studying, Brett enjoys playing basketball, fishing, snowboarding and hanging out with family and friends. He and his wife are expecting their first child, a girl, in July.

Instead, we recognize three students with the highest grade point averages and most rigorous coursework in the following categories: baccalaureate, academic transfer, and professional/technical. Honorees are recognized during commencement.
