After a temporary closure to expand services, the Lower Columbia College (LCC) Food
for Thought Food Pantry will celebrate its reopening at an open house from 11 am -
2 pm on October 24, 2023.
The Food Pantry, located on the second floor of the Student Center, opened its doors
to LCC students, faculty and staff in January 2018 in an effort to reduce food insecurity
on campus and support student success. During the first few months of operation, the
Food Pantry provided more than 400 pounds of non-perishable groceries to students
and employees in need.
With a growing need for assistance and resources, Food for Thought has expanded its
services to include weekly perishable and non-perishable grocery options, daily “grab
n’ go” snacks, free lunch Tuesday (sign-up required), holiday meals, personal care
items, baby diapers and pull-ups in various sizes, laundry facilities (appointment
required), and clothing.
Support for the Food Pantry is provided by the LCC Foundation, Student Services, and
cash and supply donations. Cash donations are accepted through the LCC Foundation,
and supply donations are accepted at the Food Pantry Monday through Friday from 8:00
am - 5:00 pm. Alternatively, donors can call (360) 442-2352 to arrange a pick up.
Donation bins are also located in the following locations on campus: Admissions Building (between the OneStop and the Career Center front desk); Library
(front entrance); Fitness Center; Student Center (one on each floor).
