New degree options are available for prospective teachers and paraeducators! The new Associate in Applied Science (AAS) in Education is perfect for students interested in becoming para educators in the K-12 system. Credits from the AAS degree transfer seamlessly to LCC’s Bachelor of Applied Science in Teacher Education (BAS-TE) degree, intended for those pursuing teacher certification or a career in early childhood education.

The Education AAS program includes teaching methods in supporting social skills development, mathematics, science, and the arts. Emphasis is placed on educational foundations, child development, families, communities, schools and other agencies. EDUC& 101 meets the state’s required 28-hour Fundamental Course of Study for para educators.

LCC is accepting applications for the Bachelor of Applied Science in Teacher Education (BAS-TE) program through June 1, 2023. New: students can now choose to attend on either a part- or full-time basis! LCC’s BAS-TE program is intended for students who have previously earned an associate degree or equivalent college credits.

Apply today at lowercolumbia.edu/apply to start in summer (July 5) or fall (September 18) quarter.
