The Gym & Fitness Center was completely remodeled in 2014 through a student-led Fitness Initiative and Operational Fee.
The renovation included an updated gym; new fitness center; classroom space for dance, yoga, health and continuing education classes; community spaces; coaching offices, locker rooms and a juice bar.
In 2005 LCC students voted 278-36 to impose a $2.50-per-credit fee to bring the Myklebust Gymnasium, built in 1959, up to ADA code, and to remodel and expand the small fitness center. In 2011 the Washington State Legislature approved $2 million in matching capital funds.
In 2015 LCC students voted to support the a Fitness Center Operational Fee which directs the College to assess a $20 quarterly student fee to fund continued operation of the Gym & Fitness Center, including staffing and leasing of cardio equipment.
