Lower Columbia College is thrilled to announce the Fall 2024 launch of our newest bachelor's degree program: a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Coming by mid-May: admissions criteria, and application open and close dates for the fall 2024 cohort. A few facts about the program:
- The RN to BSN program is a post-licensure pathway designed for students who have obtained a Washington RN license by the time classes start in September.
- The RN to BSN program is a selective admission program. Selective admission criteria are used when there are more applicants to the program than seats available.
- Graduates of LCC’s associate degree nursing program (AN-DTA/MRP) may be able to complete the RN to BSN program in as little as one year (3 quarters) of full-time enrollment (15 credits per quarter, 45 credits total).
- This will be a hybrid program, with classes meeting in-person once a week.
- Both full- and part-time pathways will be available.

LCC's Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) degree programs are undergraduate programs designed to provide students with a practical and applied education in a specific field. Unlike traditional Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BS) degrees, which often emphasize humanities or theoretical math and science, a BAS degree focuses on hands-on, real-world applications of knowledge. These programs are tailored to meet the needs of industries requiring skilled professionals with a strong foundation in both theoretical concepts and practical skills. The curriculum includes a combination of technical coursework, practical training, and general education requirements, ensuring graduates are well-prepared for immediate entry into the workforce. BAS degrees are particularly beneficial for individuals seeking career advancement or a transition to a new field, as they offer a targeted and career-oriented approach to education.
Sometimes referred to as a 4-year degree, Bachelors degree programs at LCC can be completed on varying timelines to accommodate your schedule, full-time or part-time. These degrees admit students that have completed an AAS or AAS-T degree or 90 credits at an accredited institution.
LCC currently offers two Bachelor of Applied Science programs. Class types include in-person, online and hybrid. Learn more about our available programs below and apply today!
