Congressional Candidates Debate at LCC on October 27

Candidates for Washington’s 3rd Congressional District seat will participate in a live, hour-long debate on October 27 at 6:00 p.m. in Lower Columbia College’s Wollenberg Auditorium during an event hosted by Oregon Public Broadcasting’s (OPB’s) “Think Out Loud” radio program. The candidates are Democrat Marie Gluesenkamp Perez and Republican Joe Kent.

“Think Out Loud” host Dave Miller will moderate the debate, which will cover the economy, the environment, healthcare, foreign policy and other topics of concern to voters in Southwest Washington. OPB staff will moderate questions submitted by the live audience, depending on available resources. Audience members are expected to refrain from yelling, cheering or engaging in other outbursts that would interrupt the debate and compromise creating a neutral forum to hear directly from the candidates in this race. Firearms are not permitted anywhere on the Lower Columbia College campus, including inside the auditorium.

The event is free and open to the public, and tickets are not required.

Seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the debate will start at 6 p.m.

Parking is available on campus after 5:00 p.m., and street parking is also available.
