Lower Columbia College upholds the highest standards of respect, fairness, and human dignity in all interactions with students, employees, and members of the community.

To maintain this standard, the President must: 

  1. Uphold transparency: Ensure students and employees receive consistent and ongoing communication about their rights and responsibilities.
  2. Provide clear pathways: Maintain and promote clear policies and procedures for handling complaints and grievances, ensuring everyone can engage in our complaint and grievance procedures and due process. 
  3. Ensure protection: Operate under established policies and procedures that protect our community from wrongful or unsafe conditions. 
  4. Maintain compliance: Remain fully and proactively compliant with all state and federal laws, rules, and regulations, including those pertaining to equal opportunity, non-discrimination, and anti-harassment.
  5. Take decisive action: Take prompt and appropriate measures after learning of any violation of state or federal laws, rules, regulations, and/or Administrative or Board policies.
