Scholastic Achievement Award recipient
LCC Class of 2025
Bachelor of Applied Science in Teacher Education
Hannah Wheeldon
Hannah Wheeldon is receiving a Bachelor of Applied Science in Teacher Education with a certification in Elementary Education. She is the first person in LCC history to receive a second Scholastic Achievement Award. In 2023, Hannah received the award for her associate degree in early childhood education. Due to a planned family vacation, she could not attend commencement that year, but she livestreamed the ceremony from a luau in Hawaii.
Hannah is a mother of three and has a fourth child on the way. She will work as a substitute teacher for the next few years while caring for her growing family. She and her family spend a lot of time outdoors enjoying activities like hiking and camping. They are big baseball fans, especially the Mariners, and Hannah coaches her daughter’s t-ball team. Eventually, she intends to return to school for a master’s degree.
About Scholastic Achievement Awards
Lower Columbia College does not designate a valedictorian. Instead, we recognize three students with the highest grade point averages and most rigorous coursework in the following categories: baccalaureate, academic transfer, and professional/technical. Honorees are recognized during commencement.
