Business & Industry Services, in partnership with ACT, Inc. offers WorkKeys Skills Assessments to people who wish to document their skills, get a "leg up" in a job interview or enhance an application for local, regional, state or federal jobs.
What Is WorkKeys
A comprehensive system designed to help you move from school to work, from unemployment to work, and from job to job. WorkKeys measures your existing skill level against the skill levels needed or required to compete for specific jobs. Several local employers, including Lower Columbia College, use WorkKeys to screen job applicants and set training goals for employees or students.
WorkKeys assessments are offered at the Testing Center in the Admissions Center. The test series measure base performance level at several occupational skills.
WorkKeys has assembled eight different assessment areas:
- Applied Mathematics
- Applied Technology
- Locating Information
- Reading for Information
- Workplace Observation
- Listening
- Business Writing
- Teamwork
Upon completion of an assessment series, candidates receive a National Career Readiness Certificate stating the level they have achieved.
The assessment series includes KeyTrain to help you obtain the scores you need to fulfill potential or existing employer expectations.
