GED Testing & Classes

The GED Tests

LCC is an official General Education Development (GED) testing center. If you are 16 or older and did not finish high school, you may earn your GED certificate by taking the five tests at the Testing Center on the LCC Campus in Longview.

Register for the tests and pay the $75 fee at least a day before you can take the five tests. Retesting costs $15 per test.

Testing Schedule

GED testing is offered in the LCC Admissions Center on the following dates:

  • Monday, April 7
  • Monday April 21
  • Monday, May 5
  • Monday May 19
  • Monday, June 2
  • Saturday, June 14

All five test subjects will be offered each test date at:

  • Test 1: Language Arts, Writing, 8:00 am
  • Test 2: Language Arts, Reading, 10:30 am
  • Test 3: Mathematics, 12:00 pm
  • Test 4: Science, 2:30 pm
  • Test 5: Social Studies, 4:05 pm

Adult Basic Education

To prepare for the GED, sign up for Adult Basic Education classes.

Cost is just $25 per quarter, with financial help available to those who need it. To take these classes, you need to be at least 16 years old. Students 16-18 must have a release from their district high school.

You can take classes to qualify for a better job or prepare for the GED test on the LCC Campus, at LCC Woodland, Employment Security, Foster Farms, and other locations.  Our teachers will test your skills when you sign up, so you will study at the right level.
