Lower Columbia College has many English options:

• Immigrants and international students who need to learn or improve their English
• Students who need to improve their basic skills in grammar, writing and reading to get a better job, or earn their GED
• College level English studies

Immigrants who need to learn to read, speak and write English are invited to take low-cost English as a Second Language (ESL) classes.

English 100 prepares students for English 101, which is required for all transfer degrees and many professional or technical degrees.

With LCC's college level English courses students can learn to:

• Write like a college graduate
• Read and understand literature
• Get communication skills
• See and understand plays and films, and how they affect culture
• Write or help produce The Salal Review, LCC's award-winning literary and arts magazine
