Apprenticeships and internships are two different approaches to job training and work experience.
Internships (Cooperative Education)
Internships provide work experience for students already in a college career training or transfer degree program.
LCC offers Cooperative Education college credit for work experience in dozens of fields. Many Applied Arts degrees as well as the Individualized Certificate Program (ICP)require Cooperative Education experience.
Apprenticeships
Apprenticeships are arranged through participating employers, which offer education and training through a state apprenticeship program.
LCC is a partner in Washington’s Registered Apprentice System. Apprenticeships combine employment, education, and training in one workforce program.
