If you are a High School Junior or Senior in the State of Washington, you may be eligible to take courses at Lower Community College and Running Start will pay all or most of your tuition!
Students receive both high school credit toward graduation, and college credit for classes taken at LCC.
Students may enroll simultaneously in high school and college classes, or solely in college classes.
It's Not Too Late! Start Running Start in Fall 2012
The priority testing deadline has passed, but you can still enter the Running Start program in Fall 2012.
Effective June 4, prospective students who have not tested or applied to the Running Start program should do the following:
Note: Testing and application must be completed by August 16.
- Take the Running Start test to see if you qualify.
The test is a placement exam for math, reading and writing.
Cost: $30. Location: Admissions Center. Bring: picture ID (driver's license, permit or ID, passport or ASB card). No appointment is necessary, just tell staff you need to take the Running Start test. Testing hours and sample tests are available at Placement Test.
- Complete and submit all application materials.
If you qualify, staff will give you the application packet. Deadline for submitting the application packet, with all attachments, is August 16.
- Attend Running Start New Student Orientation.
New students who have passed the test must attend the Running Start New Student Orientation: August 23, 9 am - 12 pm or 4 - 7 pm.
