Assessment at LCC

All instructional and non-instructional departments at LCC conduct assessment on a biennial cycle. Although the college generally adheres to the Nichols system of assessment, flexibility is allowed in the type of reports that may be submitted. Most of the Nichols resource materials are available in the Office of Institutional Research, Planning and Assessment for short-term loans.

  • All assessment reports must be approved by the appropriate Vice President prior to submission to the Office of Institutional Research, Planning and Assessment.
  • All assessment reports are due to the Office of Institutional Research, Planning and Assessment by October 15th following the year in which the program or department was slated for assessment.
  • The Assessment Committee oversees all assessment efforts at LCC.  Members of the Assessment Committee serve as liaisons to different units on campus.  More information about the Assessment Committee is available in the committee's mission statement and by-laws .
  • Many external assessment resources are available via the Internet.

Report Format
Although there is no required format for submission of assessment reports, each report must contain the required components. Two of the most commonly used formats are:
