If the 10th or 25th falls on a Saturday, payday will be the preceding Friday. If the 10th or 25th falls on a Sunday, payday will be the following Monday unless Monday is a federal banking holiday, then payday will be the preceding Friday.

Employee Earnings History
This function allows you to view the earnings and deductions associated with your most recent payroll check or any payroll check issued to you within the last two years. Year-to-date earnings and deductions may also be viewed. Employees who qualify for vacation and sick leave may view their leave information on the Employee Earnings History. Check out your Employee Earnings History today. To use this function, you will be required to enter your employee ID and employee PIN number. If you do not have your employee ID or PIN number, please contact the payroll office.

Direct Deposit
Employees shall have their earnings automatically deposited to an account at a financial institution of their choice. Electronic Funds Transfer forms can be obtained by downloading the Electronic Funds Transfer form and submitting it to the payroll office. An earnings statement will be used to itemize the deductions and contributions for which you have enrolled. Student employees receive earnings in the form of a check, with their earnings statement printed on their check stub.

Address Change
Human Resource Services maintains employee information files. Employees needing to make name, telephone and/or address changes should complete the Employee Change form and submit it to Human Resource Services.

IRS Form W-4
Upon hire, all new employees, including student workers, are required to complete a  W-4. All employees should review their W-4 filing status and taxes withheld and compare this to anticipated or actual tax liability. If your income or filing status changes, please submit an updated W-4 as soon as possible. Tax is withheld in accordance with the current rates established by the Internal Revenue Service. Any employee filing Exempt status must fill out a new W-4 at the beginning of each new tax year. The W-4 may be obtained by contacting the payroll office or downloading the W-4 form.

It is Lower Columbia College's obligation to prepare and mail your W-2 Form (annual statement of income and withholding) by January 31st of the following year. Note: If you do not receive this form by January 31st, please contact Payroll Services.

Form I-9, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services
Lower Columbia College is required by the Department of Homeland Security to complete and maintain an I-9 for each employee before employment begins. This form shows compliance that the employee is authorized to work in the United States. The I-9 requires certain documents that are used to establish identity and employment authorization. Please contact Payroll or Human Resource Services immediately if you have not completed this form.

Social Security
Employees and the College contribute matching premiums to the Social Security Administration in accordance with the current rate schedule. The deductions and contributions (OASI) are displayed on your payroll earnings statement.

It is imperative that Payroll Services has the correct social security number for reporting these wage credits. In order to ensure accurate reporting of these credits, name changes must first be reported to the Social Security Administration. A new social security card will then be issued to you, which in turn can be presented to the payroll office along with photo ID. This will facilitate your name change for our official records.

You may confirm that you are getting social security credit for amounts that have been deducted and contributed on your behalf by annually submitting the "Request for Earnings and Benefit Estimate Statement." These forms are available from any Social Security Office and should be sent directly to the Social Security Administration address listed on the form.

Payroll Deductions
Payroll deductions requested by employees for specified purposes shall be allowed, provided a reasonable number of individuals participate. Reasonable participation shall be determined for each deduction after individuals have signed the official authorization form. The WFSE dues are automatically deducted from the payroll check upon joining.

Optional Payroll Deductions

  • Homeowners & Auto Insurance
The State of Washington has negotiated group rates for its employees through Liberty Mutual Insurance. This could mean up to 12% in discounted auto and home rates. By enrolling with Liberty Mutual, you will be able to have the insurance cost deducted from your semi-monthly paychecks. For additional information, please visit the PEBB website.
  • Combined Fund Drive
Each October the Combined Fund Drive campaign is initiated. By completing the payroll deduction form you can direct any dollar amount to one or more specific charities. The deductions begin in January and continue until you take positive action to change either the designee or dollar amount during the next campaign.
  • Gifts to LCC
You may authorize scholarship or development deductions from your earnings. Contact the Foundation Office at 442-2130 or visit the Foundation webpage for more information.
