Worker Retraining Grad
Robert Cummings was laid off in early 2006 from Sinnett's MarketPlace, where he was a journeyman retail clerk, warehouse manager and receiving clerk.

That spring, he started at LCC, with help from the Worker Retraining Program. He was LCC’s top Accounting Student for 2006-07, and will graduate Winter of 2008. He’s working for Opsahl, Shepp & Company, getting work experience and looking forward to moving up.

"If it weren't for the grants and the Worker Retraining, I wouldn't have been able to go through school," he said.

Train for a New Career

Out of Work? Just laid off?

You may qualify for special financial aid to train for a new career at LCC.  More than 20 high-demand
training programs are available to you.

Eligibility involves a variety of factors, but you may qualify if you are:

Our Career and Employment Center staff can help you evaluate your skills and potential; choose a training program; and refine your job search strategy, and resume and interview skills. We're located in the LCC Admissions Center. campus map

If you qualify, Financial Aid is available to help you attend LCC.  Funding varies by individual circumstances, but you may receive help with tuition, books, living expenses; even childcare and transportation.  We can help Oregon residents too!

LCC's Worker Retraining staff stand by you all the way, to help you understand the available programs and when to take which step, what paperwork to file, and how to coordinate financial aid, degree progress, and unemployment benefits and requirements.
