Worker Retraining is a state-funded program that provides job-related training and employment services to dislocated and unemployed workers to help them gain additional training in their existing field or get started on a new career path. Many training programs are available.

Considering a career change or starting college? Out of work? Facing a layoff?
You could be eligible for assistance if you meet any of the following criteria:
- Are you receiving Unemployment Insurance (UI)?
- Have you received Unemployment Insurance in the past 2 years?
- Were you self-employed, but became unemployed or underemployed due to economic downturn or natural disaster in your community?
- Are you a displaced homemaker (dependent on another’s income, and that income ended due to a change in domestic circumstances)?
The Career Center can evaluate your skills, help you choose a training program and refine your job search strategy.
You may qualify for federal or state financial aid, scholarships or Opportunity Grants. Funding varies by eligibility, but can include tuition, books, living expenses, childcare, transportation and support services.
