Planning a bachelor’s degree?
Lower Columbia College is now offering special transfer degrees in more than a dozen fields to prepare you better than ever to enter your major program after you transfer.

Lower Columbia College now offers the following Major Related Program (MRP) degrees:

  • Associate in Business DTA/MRP
  • Associate in Math Education DTA/MRP
  • Associate in Elementary Education DTA/MRP
  • Associate in Technology DTA/MRP
  • Associate in Chemistry Education AS-T/MRP
  • Associate in Biology Education AS-T/MRP
  • Associate in Physics Education AS-T/MRP
  • Associate in General Science Education AS-T/MRP
  • Associate in Bioengineering and Chemical Engineering AS-T/MRP
  • Associate in Computer and Electrical pre-Engineering AS-T/MRP
  • Associate in Electrical Engineering Technology and Computer Engineering Technology AS-T/MRP
  • Associate in Mechanical /Civil /Aeronautical/Industrial/Materials
    Science Engineering AS-T/MRP
  • Associate in Mechanical Engineering Technology AS-T/MRP

2006 LCC GradsMajor Related Program (MRP) degrees build on the more generic Direct Transfer by Agreement (DTA) degree for students in the arts, humanities and social sciences, and the Associate in Science (AS-T) degree for students in engineering and science-based fields. For details on each of these degrees, see the 2007-09 LCC Catalog.
Two-year and four-year colleges worked together to create these new degrees. Four-year colleges agreed on what they would accept, and the two-year colleges are adding or changing courses as needed.

Be sure to consult advisors at LCC (and your transfer institution if you know where you will be transferring) to be sure which MRP will meet your goals. If you change from an MRP to a different degree, you may need additional course work to fulfill degree requirements. You should also try to complete sequence courses within one institution.
