Want to Start a Club?

Any group or organization, whose program aims at the promotion of a special inerest, occupation, or field of study, is considered a club.

The first thing you need is a group of students who share the desire to have this club on campus (a minimum of four).  The next thing you need is an advisor (faculty or staff) who will support the club.

Finally, you need to fill out the club application.  You can dowload the application online or request one in the student government office.  Once you've completed the application, you must review the application with Dan Johnson, the Director of Student Programs.  Once you have reviewed it with him, he will forward it to the ASLCC Executive Council.

What are the benefits of having an ASLCC Sanctioned organization?

There are many reasons, the most enticing of which is funding.  ASLCC allocates club budgets annually, allowing clubs and organizations on campus to survive!  The student government also provides services such as advertising through its PR Director, and places to meet, like the Clubs and Orgs room in the student center!  ASLCC also invites clubs to participate in the many events it puts on each year, such as the back to school BBQ, and its seasonal festivals (like harvest party, etc).
