What do we do?
LCC Symphonic Band along with ASLCC and LCC Foundation, perform during the annual invitational high school honor band. High school students are selected by their band directors to rehearse and perform at the Longview’s Columbia theatre.
Mark Morris High’s Jazz Ensemble also performs with during the annual event. The band was directed by one of America’s outstanding band directors, Prof. Rodney Winther, from Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.
The Symphonic Band also perfrom during the all-dance music concert held in March. During this event the school is proud to sponser performers from across the globe to come and join in on the event. Last year we had the delight if Daniela Ivanova from Bulgaria to dance with our LCC Symphonic Band! She is an ethno-choreographer that specializes in Balkan dances. This is likely the first time LCC has ever imported any guest artist or guest speaker from Europe, so it’s sort of a landmark for LCC as well as the Symphonic Band.
