Building Pathways with Youth

CTE Dual Credit Programs

Programs designed to guide local students into high-skill, family-wage careers with local industries.

High school students earn dual credits by enrolling in career and technical education classes (CTE) at their local high school. Once students graduate from high school and arrive at LCC, those classes are transferred as professional technical credits, meaning high school students can earn college credit for high school classes, without leaving high school or doing additional homework!

Expand Young Minds

Providing fun, engaging, hands-on opportunities for kids.

From engineering and design to geometry as art, students learn how STEM/STEAM relates to their everyday life and are encouraged to consider careers in STEM fields. Activities are offered throughout the year, many at no charge

Building Pathways with Employers

Advisory Committees

Advising, assisting and providing support and advocacy for quality programs.

Professional-technical advisory committee meetings enable community members to learn what LCC's professional-technical programs offer students and the surrounding community. At the same time LCC instructors increase their understanding of the job market, employers' needs and workforce development opportunities.

  • The guidance and advice of local advisory committee members can help ensure students are learning the most current skills needed in the workplace
  • Provide an open forum for sharing information and ideas
  • Create a stronger community when business and education partner for our future workforce
See Featured Event Calendar for list of advisory committee meetings.

Cooperative Education

Creating opportunities for students to build their resumes prior to completion of college.

Many employers require a certain level of education along with experience. Cooperative Education provides both. The education is attained by completion of a certificate or degree. The experience is attained by completing an internship. Through affiliation agreements with local businesses, this program creates the opportunity for students to build their resumes prior to completion of college.
