What is the Brothers in Power Conference?
The Brothers in Power Conference is an empowering event hosted by Lower Columbia College, designed specifically for young men who identify as students of color, come from marginalized or disadvantaged backgrounds, or are first-generation college students. Brothers in Power is geared towards males in 11th and 12th grade, but is open to any high school student who wishes to attend. This year’s topics will focus on men’s health, personal identity and the community, and life skills.
Brothers in Power is scheduled for March 27 from 9 am – 1:15
pm. Lunch will be provided.
Registration is through your high school; attendees need to talk to their guidance counselor or College and Career Readiness Advisor about attending. All are welcome!
Why are we hosting the event?
Lower Columbia College is committed to fostering equity, opportunity, and empowerment for students from all walks of life. The Brothers in Power Conference is a vital step in helping young men of color and those from underrepresented backgrounds overcome barriers to success. By providing access to practical skills, inspiring role models, and a supportive community, we aim to encourage attendees to envision and pursue higher education, develop valuable life skills, and create pathways to leadership and success. This event reflects LCC’s mission to uplift and support our local community through education and empowerment.
