Do you have any preferred study spots? Some students prefer to study with friends or classmates, while others prefer to study alone in a quiet place. LCC offers many places to study, so I am sure you'll find your favorite spot when you come here! In this blog, I introduce some of the popular study spots on campus.
The most popular and common spot to study is the Library! The first floor is a lively space where you can study with friends and classmates. Computers and copiers are available for free use anytime during the opening hours. The front desk lends out items like chargers for laptops and phones, headphones, and calculators for free. The second floor is quieter, where you often see people studying individually. There are private study spaces, which I often use. However, be aware that securing the seat becomes hard in midterms and finals. Opening hours are weekdays from 8 am to 6 pm (until 4 pm on Fridays).
The Health and Science Building is located next to the library. Many classes are held during the day, and the second floor also serves as a gathering place for nursing students. My recommended study spot is the tables on the first floor. The third floor of this building also has a rooftop, so it is very nice to study outside when the weather is great, especially during spring and summer! The biggest advantage is that you can stay until around 8 pm. I often study at the library until closing time, then come here to study until around that time.
The building in front of the library is the Student Center. This building is the place
where activities are held, with a cafeteria on the first floor and board games and
ping pong tables on the second floor. Since many students relax here, some may find
it too noisy for studying, but it’s recommended for those who concentrate better with
background noise. Additionally, the cafeteria allows you to get some food when you
get hungry. The cafeteria is usually open from Monday to Thursday until 2:30 pm, and
the Student Center usually opens from Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm.
The Rose Center is located next to the Student Center. It hosts arts classes. It’s generally quiet even during the day, making it especially recommended for those who want a quiet place to study all day! On the other hand, around 7 pm, you can hear sounds from choir and instrumental practice sessions. Also, it’s often open until around 9 pm. I have brought snacks there sometimes and studied with friends until that time.
