Give More 24!
Our students work incredibly hard to reach the final stretch of their education, but sometimes one last financial barrier can stand between them and the finish line.
This Give More 24!, the LCC Foundation is launching the Finish Line Scholarship, a new fund designed specifically for LCC students who have exhausted all other available financial resources and need support to complete their education or transition into the workforce.
For some students, that may mean having just 5, 10, or 15 credits remaining to complete their degree or program, but no financial aid or other resources left to cover the cost. For others, the barrier comes after coursework is complete, when the cost of a required licensing, certification, or workforce exam stands between them and the career they have worked so hard to pursue.
Why Your Gift Matters
After investing months or years into their education, even a relatively small financial gap can put graduation or career plans on hold. A gift could help cover a student's remaining coursework, a required certification, a WABO welding test, the NCLEX-RN nursing exam, or other costs necessary to take that last step from education into the workforce.
The Finish Line Scholarship is intended to be that last resource when other funding options have been exhausted, helping students complete their degree or program, earn their credentials, and move forward into their careers.

Early giving begins September 8, 2026, leading up to the official Give More 24! day of giving on Thursday, September 24. Every gift brings us one step closer to our $25,000 goal and helps more LCC students cross the finish line.
Meet Juliet
Juliet's journey at Lower Columbia College is a story of perseverance, growth, and what can happen when students have the support they need to keep going. After leaving high school early, Juliet returned to LCC and earned her high school diploma. Years later, as a wife, mother, preschool teacher, and active member of her community, she made the decision to return once again and pursue the dream she had carried with her for years: becoming an educator.
Juliet has since earned her Associate degree in Early Childhood Education and is now continuing her journey in LCC’s Bachelor of Applied Science in Teacher Education program. Her story is a reminder that reaching the finish line often takes more than determination alone. Financial support can make the difference for students who have invested years of hard work into their education and just need that final boost to complete their degree, earn their credential, and begin the career they have worked so hard for.
As Juliet shared, “I want others to know what it feels like to feel worthy of getting an education; worthy of pursuing their dreams; we all deserve that.”

Meet the LCC Foundation Staff!
Sheila Timm
Executive Director, LCC Foundation
With over 18 years of dedicated service to Lower Columbia College, Sheila Timm brings a deeply relational, high-energy approach to leading the LCC Foundation. Driven by the belief that philanthropy should be as joyful as it is impactful, Sheila focuses on building meaningful, lasting partnerships that bridge donors' passions with the college's evolving needs.
A typical day for Sheila is fast-paced, collaborative, and entirely focused on community connection. Whether she is walking prospective supporters through a campus tour, meeting with local partners, or managing strategic initiatives, her work centers on understanding what inspires people to give. Through key efforts like the Opportunity Can’t Wait Campaign and targeted grant writing, she secures vital resources for scholarships and campus initiatives, ensuring that financial barriers won’t stand in the way of a student's education.
Sheila believes that the Foundation's strength relies heavily on strong internal and external alignment. She works closely with faculty, staff, and leadership across the entire campus to ensure donor intentions match strategic college priorities. Her commitment to the LCC family also extends beyond current students, staff, and faculty; Sheila oversees the LCC Retiree Association, keeping former staff and faculty connected to the college's ongoing mission.
As Executive Director, Sheila sets an inviting, supportive tone for her team and board members every day. She is deeply committed to mentoring her staff, empowering them to take on new challenges with creativity and confidence, grounded in her firm belief that every challenge has a solution. For Sheila, leading the Foundation is about creating a culture in which donors, staff, faculty, and students thrive together, building a stronger community, one connection at a time.
Hoa Le
Foundation Accountant, LCC Foundation
For a decade, Hoa Le has served as the financial backbone of the Lower Columbia College Foundation. As the Foundation Accountant, Hoa brings precision, dedication, and deep institutional pride to her work—ensuring that every gift, grant, and scholarship fund is managed with absolute care and accuracy.
Originally from Vietnam, Hoa’s connection to LCC is deeply personal. She is a proud LCC alumna who went on to earn her degree from Washington State University Vancouver, giving her a firsthand understanding of the transformative power of local higher education. That personal journey fuels her passion for supporting today's students, making her work with the Foundation far more than just a job.
Behind the scenes, a typical day for Hoa is focused on financial stewardship. She works diligently to reconcile institutional funds, investments, and bank accounts, oversee scholarship disbursements, and manage day-to-day payments. Her expertise ensures the Foundation stays financially sound, empowering the team to reach ambitious fundraising milestones, expand donor support, and sustainably grow the college’s financial resources. Affectionately known around the office as "HoAwesome" and the team's true "number wiz," her work provides the solid foundation that makes all of LCC’s philanthropic efforts possible.
Emilee Bollibon
Alumni Relations and Scholarship Manager, LCC Foundation
As a proud Lower Columbia College alumna, Emilee Bollibon brings a personal passion for student success to her role with the LCC Foundation. Having once walked the same halls as the students she now serves, she understands the impact that financial support can have on a student’s educational journey.
Emilee plays a hands-on role in LCC’s scholarship program, helping students navigate scholarship opportunities, hosting workshops, and guiding them through the application and award process. She especially values connecting students with resources that can ease financial barriers and help them stay focused on reaching their educational goals.
In addition to supporting current students, Emilee helps keep LCC alumni connected to their alma mater through events, outreach, and engagement opportunities that strengthen relationships between graduates, the College, and today’s students.
Outside of work, Emilee enjoys spending time with family and taking trips to the coast with her husband and their two dogs, Kuma and Lola.
Tashauna Kilmer
Foundation Specialist, LCC Foundation
If you ask Tashauna Kilmer what drives her work at Lower Columbia College, her answer is simple: the team beside her and the impact they create together for students. For Tashauna, fundraising is about turning community generosity into meaningful support and opportunities for LCC students.
That impact was especially clear during the Students in Need Campaign, where Tashauna helped guide efforts behind the scenes and watched the community come together to exceed the campaign goal. Moments like these remind her why the Foundation’s work matters and the difference a supportive community can make for students facing unexpected challenges.
As a Foundation Specialist, Tashauna helps keep the Foundation’s work moving smoothly. Her role combines donor relationships and storytelling with the behind-the-scenes details that make it all possible, from researching philanthropic opportunities and coordinating events to managing donor communications and ensuring every gift is acknowledged with care.
Outside of work, Tashauna enjoys spending time with her daughter, reading, camping, gardening, and being on the water, where she is currently perfecting her paddleboarding skills.
