College data are assets maintained to support the mission and vision of Lower Columbia College (LCC). “College data” refers to any data elements relevant to the operations, planning, and management of LCC. This includes, but is not limited to, data used in official college, administrative, or compliance reports. To support effective management and data-informed decisions, college data must be accessible, relevant, accurate, and reliable. Appropriate management and use of data ensure institutional capacity for making strategic and data-informed decisions in a legal and ethical manner.

LCC employees with access to and responsibility for data shall participate in relevant training, manage and maintain standards for data collection, use, storage, release, retention, and destruction per all applicable federal and state laws and regulations, and comply with the State Board for Community and Technical Colleges’ data governance and classification policies and procedures. Unauthorized use or handling of data in any way may result in employee discipline up to and including termination or criminal or civil legal action.
