Core Theme Two: Transfer and Academic Preparation

LCC is operating - we're just doing things differently.

LCC will continue to operate remotely until further notice (a list of face-to-face and hybrid classes for fall will be posted on July 27). 1. Ensure that learners who are under-prepared for college level studies have access to developmental coursework and bridge opportunities to college level work. a. Basic skills achievement.

2. Offer courses and support for students to meet the requirements for transfer from Lower Columbia College. c. Student performance.
d. Transfer readiness.
e. Demonstration of General Education Outcomes
3. Provide the support for transfer students to successfully transition to upper division college and university programs. f. Academic transfer rate.

Strategic Initiative: Redesign our certificate and degree pathways and associated supports, addressing identified equity gaps, in order to maximize student achievement and learning.

Planning Category Annual Priorities
Academic
  • Explore Basic Skills and Pre-college integration as part of Guided Pathways, including co-requisite models (concurrent pre-college and college enrollment).
  • Implement Career Pathways (meta-majors) and related certificate and degree maps.
  • Review and update student learning outcomes for all programs, including related instruction.
Diversity/Equity
  • Continue to increase the proportion of students transitioning from Basic Education for Adults to college level studies.
Student & Community Engagement
  • Strengthen recruiting and enrollment efforts.
  • Increase support for transfer students through communication about external deadlines and resources.
Facilities
  • Complete Main Building remodel.
  • Explore improvements to the Learning Commons.
Technology  
  • Provide solutions for maintaining data integrity in Canvas and MyMathLab with ctcLink conversion.
