Get Started as a Running Start Student!
Step 1: Submit an LCC Application
Before you submit your application (click on the drop downs for more information):
To apply to a college, please create an admissions application account.
- Make sure to select "Running Start" under "I will be enrolling as..."
- Select "Academic" for your Program type
- This is the 1st application of our two step application process.
- You will receive an acceptance email from the Registration office within a week once they have processed your LCC application. Please make sure to save that email as it will contain very important information. Make sure to check your SPAM folder if you can not locate your Admissions email
Step 2: Submit an LCC Running Start Application

This is a google form that you must complete after you have completed Step #1
Once Running Start verifies we have the application in Step #1 and Step #2, the Running Start office will request your high school transcripts to determine your English placement if you do not submit your HS transcripts.
Step 3: What happens after I appy?
After you apply, you will receive 2 emails.
- 1st email: An email containing your LCC Student ID number and additional information about what to do next. This email is from our LCC Registration office.
- 2nd email: An email containing your Running Start Acceptance, English placement and
more information regarding orientation & registration. This email is from our Running
Start Director.
- If you do not receive information from the Running Start office withing 2 weeks of
applying please contact us at 360.442.2442 to check the status of your application.

Running Start Tuition and Financial Responsibilities
Running Start students and their families do not pay tuition. They are responsible for mandatory fees, books and transportation. Students receive both high school and college credit for these classes, which accelerates their progress through the education system.
Information for Undocumented Students/DREAMers
Undocumented students in Washington state have the right to attend colleges and universities. Many qualify for state-funded financial aid because of the Washington Dream Act, also called The Real Hope Act which was signed into law in 2014.
