Safety precautions to protect students, employees and visitors
Higher education has reopened and must follow specific safety rules outline by Governor
Inslee. All normal activities are currently permitted under the higher education proclamation,
as long as safety protocols are followed. Protocols must include: hygiene; social
distancing; and cleaning and sanitization.
Safety & Cleaning Protocols
- Lab spaces individually assessed
- Extra lab sections added or moved online
- Furniture arranged for physical distancing
- COVID-19 cleaning protocols established
- Cleaning supplies provided for faculty
Campus modifications
- Plexiglass barriers and footsteps on the ground installed in areas where transactions
occur
- Free shipping for book orders
- Food Services closed
- Gym/Fitness Center services open to general students during modified hours
- Clear signage arranged strategically on campus
- Face coverings required when unvaccinated and working around others
- Curbside Food Pantry pick-up
- Health screening required before entering campus
- COVID-19 safety training assigned to all students and employees via Canvas
- Emergency Operations Team meeting weekly via Zoom to assess situation
- Cleaning and disinfecting protocols established for campus and college-owned housing
- Custodial crews continually cleaning frequently touched surfaces with disinfectants
specifically approved by the EPA for use with COVID-19
- LCC working closely with county officials to identify cases of COVID-19 that may be
connected to our campus (see below)
Access to Facilities
Students and employees must check in at a health monitor station for a health screening
before entering space open to students and the public.
If someone at LCC is confirmed to have COVID-19
- Employees and students will be notified by email of any confirmed cases that have
occurred within the last three days
- Potentially exposed individuals will be contacted directly by LCC
