The Great Washington ShakeOut

Emergency Earthquake Drill: October 17 at 10:17 am.

Every year LCC participates in The Great Washington ShakeOut, a statewide earthquake drill designed to help you understand how to protect yourself in a real earthquake. During the drill LCC will activate all emergency communication channels. Please react as if this were a real earthquake. Afterward, you may return to your normal college activities.

Why is this drill important?

LCC is located in a seismically active area with a history of large magnitude quakes. Future earthquakes will occur and our best course of action is to be prepared.

How should I prepare?

Get Familiar with Emergency Preparedness

Visit Ready.gov to learn what to do before, during, and, after an earthquake.
Add LCC's online Emergency Handbook to your browser favorites.
Connect with LCC's social media sites for the latest news, events and activities.
Visit American Red Cross to learn how to prepare for an emergency.
