ASLCC Senator: Chance "Makana" Arakaki

Hello! My name is Chance Makanamaikalani Arakaki and I am from Honolulu, Hawaii on the island of Oahu.

I am the son to Cy Arakaki and Dawn Arakaki. I have one brother and two half brothers. I also have a step-brother who is Asian. I play baseball for Lower Columbia College and I am going into my second year of college.

I want to be an environmental scientist and hopefully become a botanist and work with plants. I think plants are cool. I like to listen to all types of music. I enjoy finding new songs on YouTube and discovering new artists. I also enjoy drawing tribals, which is like Polynesian tattoo designs, and it's fun to put all these different types of patterns together to create a work of art.

While in student government I want to help the crew make Lower Columbia College more together as a school community. With all the events that we can plan and all the different types of people that we can bring into the school, it'll be awesome to see our school grow as a campus and come together. I would also like to learn more about student government. I've never been apart of something like this, so it will be awesome to experience what it's all about and become a part of this team. That is my biggest goal.
