Silvia Munoz-Garcia

Silvia Garcia-Munoz

LCC Class of 2019

Silvia is a first-generation college student who will study finance and entrepreneurship at WSU-V this fall.

Silvia Garcia-Munoz was a Woodland High School Running Start student who decided to continue her education at LCC because of the engaged, supportive faculty and how closely they work with students to help them grow.

Silvia graduates Friday, June 21 at the 83rd Annual Lower Columbia College Commencement Ceremony held at Schroeder Field. During her time at LCC, Silvia was active in Phi Theta Kappa (the international honor society for two-year colleges) and committed to community service. She was a guest speaker at Chispa, a program that motivates young people to attend college and pursue a degree, and she volunteered with the local middle school’s greenhouse/sustainable food program.

Silvia is headed to Washington State University-Vancouver this fall where she’ll study finance and entrepreneurship with the goal of building her own business and fashion line that will empower and connect women and communities.

“I want to give back to my community and help students like me conquer their goals and make their dreams a reality,” she said.

Silvia is the first member of her family to attend college. With her perseverance and desire to succeed, we have no doubt she’ll achieve all of her goals. Congratulations, Silvia!
