In the part 1 of “From LCC to University”, I introduced how two LCC alumni transferred to the four-year universities. In this blog, I interviewed two more LCC alums who have been studying at four-year universities for more than half a year.

Everything’s scales are much bigger than LCC (events, clubs, students, class, facilities,
campus, etc.)

Because there are so many students, there is often limited flexibility regarding classes, assignments, and tests.

Big sports games, such as basketball.
You should be aware of the sequence of classes you must take at your transfer institution and how much this will delay your expected graduation year from the original plan.

Eunjin (From Korea)
Nursing
Northwest University

Colleges, with their smaller student populations, can offer more personalized attention and support for each student. Universities, on the other hand, provide a wider range of activities and experiences, and their larger size allows for more opportunities, such as community services and study abroad programs.

The most challenging aspect is that, since the school does not provide much individualized attention, being independent and managing your own life is essential.
Since our school is a Christian school, we have activities such as chapel and Bible study. Because many exchange students come from other countries, especially Korea and Japan, we hold events like preparing and serving Asian food for the entire school, international students gatherings, and K-pop dance performances.
Actively participating in school activities is important. The memories made during those times are always looked back on with happiness. Most importantly, friends met here can become like family and a strong support system, so building and maintaining strong relationships with them is highly valuable.
