The Fall 2017 Medical Assisting Cohort is full, but we are accepting applications for alternates. Usually at least two alternates are able to enter the program. Please see the applications and instructions for more information.

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Completion (or Spring 2016 enrollment) of required prerequisite courses, each with a grade of C (2.0) or above: CS 110 or BTEC 145 (or BTEC 101, MATH 105, AH 104, AH 114, and ENGL 100 or placement into ENGL& 101
  • Minimum cumulative grade point of C (2.0) or above
  • Successful applicants will be admitted to the Fall 2017 Medical Assisting Cohort if prerequisite requirements are met.
  • An interview will not be necessary.
  • You will receive a formal admission letter with important time-sensitive instructions.
  • Please follow the instructions that accompany the application.
  • Qualified applicants from this group will be admitted based on transcript scores. In case of a tie, the application received earliest will win.
  • Scoring method: (number of credits) x (course grade) = score
  • Example: B- in MEDA 101...(3 credits for MEDA 101) x (2.7 for B-) = 11.1 points
  • Since CS 110 is a 3 credit course and BTEC 145 is 5 credits, BTEC 145 credits will be limited to 3 for scoring purposes
  • Support courses eligible for scoring: ENGL& 101, PSCY& 100, MEDA 101 (or BTEC 181), MEDA 102 (or BTEC 182), BTEC 171, and BTEC 172
  • Spring 2016 courses will not be scored
