Prepare for a career in healthcare: Medical Assisting

As a Medical Assistant, you will work with patients in a clinical setting doing things like taking vital signs and preparing and performing EKGs. Medical Assistants also perform administrative duties like scheduling appointments and managing medical records.

Step 2: Meet with an Entry Advisor

Entry Advisors help you register for your first quarter classes after completing the online New Student Orientation. Contact the One-Stop Center to request an appointment with an advisor and assistance with registering for your first quarter classes. The One-Stop center is located in the Admissions Building or you can contact them with one of the additional options below:

Step 3: Apply to the Medical Assisting Program (cohort)

LCC offers a one-year certificate and a two-year degree in Medical Assisting. Although you can start the program anytime by taking prerequisites and supportive classes, students apply for the clinical portion of the program in winter quarter (to start in the fall).
