Explores the everyday physical world through the study of matter, momentum and motion, forms of energy, electricity and magnetism. Physical laws are presented that describe the interaction of energy and matter that are seen in everyday life. Students will gain an understanding of the natural world and science as a field of study. Includes lab. Students cannot receive credit for both PHSC 108 and PHSC 109. Lab hours are required for this course.

Explores energy and matter through the study of matter, momentum and motion, forms of energy, electricity and magnetism. Students will gain an understanding of the natural world and science as a field of study, as well as develop skills to apply and teach scientific principles in everyday life. Intended primarily for elementary education and early childhood education majors. Includes lab. Students cannot receive credit for both PHSC 108 and PHSC 109. Lab hours are required for this course.
