Helping students reach their educational goals through resource assistance, barrier removal, educational planning, and access to career services.

Through referral from the Department of Social and Health Services, the WorkFirst program supports parents receiving Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF). WorkFirst provides low-income families with stability and a path toward self-sufficiency. Participants receive additional guidance and aid while they are attending a vocational or basic skills program.


Options

  • High School Equivalency Exam preparation.
  • High School completion through the High School+ (HS+) program.
  • English Language Learning (ELL) classes
  • Vocational education in full or part-time non-transfer degree or certificate programs and Continuing Education.

Washington State requires all parents receiving WorkFirst to participate in a work-like activity to receive their cash grant.
